Dale F. Barnett

Born April 10, 1935, in Marquette, a son of Harold and Frances (Eitenier) Barnett, Dale was raised in the Dukes-Skandia area.

He enlisted in the US Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the Skandia area where be began a long career with the local plumbers and pipefitters union, beginning with Local 414 on February 13, 1978 until his retirement in 2003.

In his spare time, Dale loved cutting firewood, was an avid deer hunter and gun collector.

Dale is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra (Babcock) Barnett, whom he married December 22, 1973; two daughters, Michelle (Don Belcher) Rivera of Houghton Lake; Melissa (Wayne) McElroy of Gwinn; four grandchildren, Brandon Rivera of Gwinn and Dillon Rivera of California, Dryden and Wyatt McElroy of Gwinn; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Chester Barnett of Skandia; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Orville, Claude and Ernest Barnett; and a sister, Esther McMaster.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, January 24, beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Chuck Tooman will officiate. A reception will follow in the reception room located at the funeral home. Spring Interment will be made in the Haglund Cemetery.
