MUNISING, MI – Keith E. Bond, age 89, of Munising, died early Monday morning, December 9, 2019 at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette following a brief illness. He was born on May 25, 1930 in Kalkaska, Michigan to Clarence and Addie (Barrow) Bond. At a young age, the family moved to Van Meer and Munising, and Keith attended Wm. G. Mather High School. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force for four years and served as a fireman in Korea. Keith married Nancy Wadsworth on February 4, 1956 and together raised their four sons. Keith worked for and retired from Borg-Warner and he and Nancy moved to the Chatham in 2004. They became members of the United Methodist Church in Trenary and Keith was very active with the Ikkala Brothers V.F.W. Post #9714. He and Nancy enjoyed traveling in their motor homes across the country. They were married over fifty-eight years when Nancy preceded him in death on July 5, 2014. During his brief illness, Keith was looking forward to being reunited with Nancy. Keith enjoyed hunting and boating with family and snowmobiling when he was younger. During the past few years, he enjoyed spending time together with his special friend, Patricia Klosowski. Keith lived a good life and had no regrets.

He is survived by three sons – Terrance (Peggy) Bond of Shingleton, Timothy Bond of Troy, and David (Beth) Bond of Shelby Township; grandchildren – Thomas, Robert, Heather, Melissa, Blake, Keith David, Isabella, Samantha, and Shaun; numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, son Jeffrey Bond, granddaughter Violet Bond, brothers Clarence, Charlie, Duane and Estel Bond, and sisters Naoma Henry and Audrey Stevens.

Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. In the spring or summer of 2020, there will be a memorial service conducted by Pastor Sandi Kolder at the United Methodist Church in Trenary and interment will take place at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans, and Ikkala Brothers VFW Honor Guards.
