Dee M. Nelson
MENIFEE, CA – Dee M. Nelson (Dorothy Crothers), age 73, entered eternal life, September 27, 2019. She died Friday morning, at her home, in Menifee, CA, in the loving care of her husband, Bill Nelson, from complications of cancer.
Dee was born on October 21, 1945, in Michigamme, MI, to Kathryn and Melvin Crothers. She was the youngest of four children (Jim, Kathy and Mary Jane). Dee graduated from Michigamme High School in 1963 and continued on receiving her BS in Business from Northern Michigan University.
In 1979, Dee moved to Southern California with her two children, to enjoy a warmer climate and adventures with her niece and friends. She returned to the U.P. often, not only to visit family and friends, but to enjoy the beauty of the area especially in the Fall.
Dee had a passion for the beach, mountains, and travel. She and Bill had many adventures together, with family and with friends-her life was full. She had a beautiful smile, contagious laugh and a big heart which touched everyone that met her. She was an amazing friend, an incredible mom, grandma and great-grandma to many more than just her blood relations. Dee will be greatly missed by her husband Bill, her children; Dan Magadanz of Elk, WA and Keri Magadanz of Marquette, MI, her step-children; Lori Wing and David Nelson, her bonus children; Kristy Antonello, Jerry Rodman, Sohyon Nelson, her sister and brother-in-law; (Kathy and Wes Mankee of Marquette, MI) many nieces and nephews, her 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Per Dee’s wishes, a celebration of life was held at her home in Menifee, California.
