SUNDELL, MI – Cindy Kay (Lintula) Hanson, age 57, of Sundell, died late Monday evening, October 7, 2019 at UPHS Marquette. She was born on May 15, 1962 in Marquette, Michigan to Richard and Alice (Winters) Lintula. Cindy grew up in Sundell and graduated from Eben High School. She worked for a few years at Munising Memorial Hospital. On October 2, 1987, Cindy went to work at Kimberly-Clark as an Order Processing and Billing Assistant. She also worked as an International Customer Service Analyst until she became a Credit Analyst in 2012. Cindy married Kris Hanson on September 24, 2000 in Sundell. Together with her mother, Alice, they owned and operated A C Bloomers for over twenty years. Between the three of them, they ordered, planted, watered, and maintained beautiful greenhouses filled with thousands of flowers to beautify the area. Cindy loved nature and spending time at Lake Superior. She enjoyed walking, running, or volunteering walking dogs at the animal shelter during her lunch hours at work. Cindy loved spending time with her “favorite little lady” Bella, her husky. She was kind, unselfish, thoughtful, and always made everyone else her priority. Cindy will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of over nineteen years – Kris Hanson of Sundell; her mother – Alice Winters of Sundell; two brothers – Jim Lintula of Sundell and Tim Lintula of Chatham; niece and nephews – Eric (Udy) Lintula, Bill and Jeffrey Pappineua, Ericka and Ian Lintula who are also her godchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews on the Hanson side; uncle – Ted (Gloria) Lintula; aunt – Bertha Alto; and numerous cousins including special cousin – Lorene Selesky.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Lintula, and her huskies who she treated like her babies – Kodiak and Bandit.

Services for Cindy will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Friday, October 11, 2019. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Her cousin, Jan Janofski will conduct Cindy’s funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
