ISHPEMING, MI — Thomas (Tom) Charles Lerlie, age 60, peacefully passed away July 2, 2019, at Trillium House in the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice, following a courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born and raised in Ishpeming. A true “Jack of All Trades”, he spent his life traveling throughout the United States as a boilermaker, carpenter, fishing guide, and trail builder/groomer. Tom loved roughing it in the outdoors, but he also loved baking bread and pies for his nurses, friends, and family. He was blessed with great talent in wood and metal working.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Lerlie and his father Ellsworth Lerlie.

He is survived by his daughter Angel (Ben Noe) Lerlie, grand-daughter Zoey Noe, brother David (Mary Ellen) Lerlie, brother Stephen (Donna) Lerlie, sister Kristen (Mohey) Mowafy, brother Glen (Amy) Lerlie, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

The family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date. They respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Trillium House, P.O. Box 7115, Marquette, MI 49855 or UP Home Health and Hospice, 1125 W. Ridge Street, Marquette, MI 49855, for their amazing, compassionate care of Tom in his final days. The family is eternally grateful for their assistance.
