Laurie Lynne Freeman

MARQUETTE, MI – Laurie Lynne Freeman, 67, of Marquette, passed away Monday evening, July 8, 2019 at the Norlite Nursing Center where she had been a resident a short while.

Laurie was born on July 5, 1952 in Manistique, a daughter of the late John and Helen Harriet (Burnett) Freeman. She was a 1970 graduate of Marquette Senior High School and attended Northern Michigan University a short while.

Laurie was previously employed as a computer programmer at LASCO and was also an office manager at SCI Cleaning until her retirement in 2015.

In her free time, Laurie was a member of several local pool leagues and looked forward to meeting with her pool friends every week.

She is survived by six siblings, Terry (Judy) Freeman, Sr. of Marquette, Jackie (Jon) Kytta of Menominee, MI, Sally Halvorson of Marquette, Jim (Sue) Freeman of Marquette, Becky Bannon of Ishpeming, and Sonya (Jim) Linna of Marquette; also surviving are 24 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were two brothers-in-law, George Halvorson and Kevin Bannon.

The Freeman family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of a memorial service in the funeral home at 12 noon with the Rev. Christopher Hintz officiating. A luncheon will be served in the funeral home luncheon area immediately following the service.
