Dana Carol Powers

Dana Carol Powers, age 38, was born in Downers Grove, IL. She moved to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula at the age of 8. Dana resided in Negaunee and graduated from Ishpeming H.S. in 2000. She moved in 2002 to live on Mehl Lake in Gwinn, MI. In 2017 Dana moved with her parents back to Downers Grove, and was currently a resident of Darien, IL.

Dana is survived by her devoted parents, Barbara and James Powers, by her three loving brothers Ryan (Melissa), Carl (Lindsey), and Jeff (Cecilia Cole). Along with 13 aunts and uncles who always loved her. Also her 2 great aunts, she will be missed by her eighteen cousins, especially Jaime Hofmann. By her first best friend Emily Rose Kasinecz, and by her long time phone friend Sarah Bjork.

Dana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leroy and Janet Cecil, and Frank and Dolores Powers, also her aunt Linda Akers.

Dana loved all her dogs fiercely. She spent countless hours swimming, and playing with her brother’s dog Otto in Mehl Lake. Dana’s other loves were snakes, frogs, turtles, zoos, aquariums, coffee drinks, and shopping.

Dana loved many and was loved greatly in return. Dana left us suddenly and without warning. Leaving the world a quieter, less colorful place.
