Peggy Narhi

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI – Peggy Anita Narhi, age 63, of Marquette Township, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her beloved pets, Mickey and Tinker.

Peggy was born May 19, 1955, in Marquette, a daughter of Virginia Baker. She was a lifelong resident of the Marquette Community and worked many years as a school aide and bus driver. She especially enjoyed her time working for N & N Trucking; sorting scrap metal and finding, what she always called, treasures. After being together for thirty years, Peggy married Gary Narhi on August 1, 2003. She and Gary enjoyed traveling together and made many trips across the country, but especially loved their vacations to Hawaii. Peggy was an avid reader of recipe books and truly enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She loved to try new recipes and would always share her freshly canned jellies, jams, or dilly beans. Peggy enjoyed crafting and found joy in gifting her creations to those she loved. Bingo night with friends was also something she looked forward to.

Peggy is survived by her two sons, Scott (Nikki) Baker and Gary (Katie) Narhi; her grandchildren, Cody and Michael; a sister, Carol Emmons; a brother, Chet Baker; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Narhi; her mother, Virginia Baker; brothers, Merlin, Ken, and Andrew “Bert” Baker.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, May 3, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.

Although no formal service, this will be an informal time for the sharing of conversation, and food. There will be a time for the sharing of memories beginning at 12:30 pm.
