Jacob Stieler

WEST BRANCH TOWNSHIP, MI – Jacob Stieler, age 17, of West Branch Township, entered eternal life Saturday, March 16, 2019, at his home, in the loving, comforting care of his family.

Born September 28, 2001, in Marquette, a son of Kenneth and Erin (Weaver) Stieler, Jacob was raised in the West Branch Township area. Being raised in a rural area, he developed an appreciation and love of the outdoors and all that nature had to offer. He grew up with a love and respect for nature and the simple things of life that really mattered and surrounded him. He loved hunting for all the right reasons, camping with family and friends, and yet watched in quiet amazement the astounding beauty of a sunset from his tree stand. Jacob often marveled at God’s Creation, both using it responsibly and helping to preserve it. He was a man of strong faith and put that faith into action whenever he could. He possessed a wide variety of attributes and had a smile that could turn a bad day into a pleasant one. Jacob also had a creative side, always looking for something to build and he demonstrated great patience in his pursuits. He was a student at the Gwinn High School where he ran cross country, was always on the honor roll, received academic awards, and was named to the National Honor Society. He worked hard, kept focused, and was successful. With his kind nature, quick smile, and sense of humor, he had many friends. For Jacob, it was a matter of trusting God, thinking of others, and being at peace with oneself.

Jacob is survived by his parents; his brother, Caleb; paternal grandmother, Judy Stieler; maternal grandparents, Ron and Myrna Weaver; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Silver Creek Church, Harvey, on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Pastor Kevin Taylor will officiate.
