Mary Margaret Brodeur

GARDEN GROVE, CA – Mary Margaret Brodeur found peace and went to sing with the angels on August 13, 2018 in Long Beach, CA. She resided in Garden Grove, CA for over 40 years.

Mary Margaret was born on February 20, 1941 in Hancock, MI to Elaine (Peltier) and Joseph Beiring. She was raised in Marquette, and graduated from Bishop Baraga Highschool. While raising five children, she began her career working in Human Resources at Marquette General Hospital. She retired after 25 successful years of working with Boeing in California. Mary married her “soulmate” Ray Brodeur, and they enjoyed their later years traveling and going on cruises. Mary liked to cook and try new recipes, art & crafts shows, Lifetime movies, reading and “her chair.” Mary had “one hell of a memory, and never forgot anyone’s birthday.” She was a strong willed, loving, caring, and intelligent woman that is remembered as being the “backbone of the family,” a hard worker and supportive. She was vivacious, gregarious, classy, charming and outgoing, a great daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

Everyone says, “She was always concerned about what other’s wanted.”

Mary Margaret leaves behind her mother Elaine Beiring, four children, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren (and 2 on their way). Children include Debra Blemberg (Joe Zehe), Kathleen (Mike) Gallagher, Daniel McCarthy, and Joseph (Lori) McCarthy. Grandchildren include Elizabeth (Geoff) Lasich, Ron Blemberg (Danielle Davis), Kyle (Marisa) Foster; Rose and Lilly Gallagher; Owen and Ella McCarthy; Brooke, Heather and Joseph McCarthy. Great Grandchildren include Mitchell and Norah Lasich, and Olivia Foster. Mary also leaves behind her sister Kathleen (Leland) Gardiner, her brother Joseph (Diana) Beiring, several nieces and nephews, and stepchildren.

Mary joins the love of her life, Ray Brodeur; her son Robert McCarthy, her brother Thomas Beiring, and her father Joseph Beiring.

A memorial to Mary and Ray’s life together will be held at noon on August 31, at the Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary in Westminster, CA, where she will rest next to Ray. Condolences and memories can be shared at www. dignitymemorial.com.

A Catholic mass in her name will be held at St. Christopher’s Church in Marquette, MI on November 3, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.

Mary’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Shoreline Healthcare for their kindness and dedication during her last days. A special thank you goes to Marge Foley for the love and care she provided mom during the past several years, and to our sister Kathleen Gallager and her family, who have dedicated so much of their lives to keep mom in our lives.
