Robert Essenburg

GWINN, MI – Robert (Bob) J. Essenburg 76, of Gwinn, Michigan, formerly of Holland, passed away July 21 2017.

Bob was born in Holland on June 7, 1941 to John (Jack) and Ella Essenburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Tom Hamlin & Dave Rhoda.

Bob is survived by his wife Geri, daughters Kathy VonIns and Karin (Jeff) Chrisman, 2 grandchildren, Wyatt (Becca) VonIns and Emily Mullennix. Five step- grandchildren, Hailey, Jake & Ken Chrisman, and Aaron & Jared Hayward, and 1 great- grandson on the way. Brother Roger (Sharon) Essenburg, sisters Shirley Rhoda, Betty (Bill) Hamlin and Lynn (Pat) Henigan. Step children Troy Signs and Michelle Signs. Many nieces and nephews.

One of Bob’s greatest loves was deer hunting and hosting his family at his deer hunting camp, “Big Buck Estates”. Singing Barbershop was another love. Bob was tenor in an award winning teenage quartet, “The Tune Agers” while at Holland High School. He was a member of the Holland Windmill Chorus & enjoyed singing “tags” with fellow Barbershoppers even after he moved to Marquette.

A memorial service to honor Bob’s life will be held in Holland at Trinity Reformed Church, August 24th at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to English Springer Rescue (ESRA) http://www. springerrescue. org.
