Michael Peter Schwemin

Mike was born in Marquette August 5, 1948 to Everett and Marion (Peterson) Schwemin and enjoyed growing up in the beautiful U.P.. Mike graduated from Bishop Baraga High School and then attended Northern Michigan University and there is where he met the love of his life, Beth. Mike became interested in cooking and soon started working at Wahlstroms Restaurant where he enjoyed 20 years as a Chef. When Mike wasn’t creating a hearty dish of meat and potatoes he would be enjoying the outdoors, deer hunting in Sands Plains, fishing, bird watching and shooting clay pigeons. Mike also was an avid bowler and loved watching the Tigers play baseball, Packer football games and the Red Wings.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Beth Schwemin, son; Samuel Schwemin and daughter Randy Schwemin, sister; Debbie (Joe) Gregorich, brothers; Paul Schwemin, Mark (Vickie) Schwemin, and Greg (Carol) Schwemin, 2 grandsons, Mason and Zach Schwemin.

Services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Chocolay Raptor Center, 146 Lakewood Lane, Marquette, MI 49855.
