MARQUETTE, MI — Jill Diane Baker, age 65, passed away unexpectedly of heart complications at her home on Tuesday, February 21st. She was born on April 7th, 1951 in Marquette. She was a lifelong resident of Marquette and devoted most of her life to Hospice and caring for people.
Jill adored her children and her many grandchildren and great-grandchil dren. Jill was an active and devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marquette. She loved to bake bread, cook, entertain and “treasure” hunt.
Jill is survived by her father, Bob (Addie) Marceau, brother, Blaine Marceau, brother, Jeff (Terri) Marceau, sister Carla (Ivan) Smith, four children Darrell Baker III, Robert (Julianne) Baker, Jennifer (Doug) Mannor, Nancy (Michael) Hares, 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Jill was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Marceau, her beloved grandmother, Grace Gentz, and the father of her children, Darrell Baker Jr.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 24th at 12 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Marquette, 120 N. Front St., Marquette, Michigan. Friends and family may also call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. There will be a luncheon at the church following the service.
