Alan Joseph Beauchamp
MARQUETTE, MI. – Dr. Alan Joseph Beauchamp, 60, of Marquette passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home following a brief illness.
He was born March 11, 1956 in Romulus, New York, a son of Robert and Marilyn (Albrect) Beauchamp.
Alan graduated from Northern Michigan University and earned a PhD from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque in Psychology.
On May 19, 1984 he married Kathleen Brabant in Pontiac, Michigan.
Alan began his teaching career at Penn State University where he taught for one year before moving to Marquette in 1990 where he was employed as a professor of psychology at NMU for many years.
His interests included woodworking, target shooting and time with his family.
Alan is survived by his wife, Kathleen Beauchamp of Marquette; son, Rory Beauchamp of Marquette; father, Robert Beauchamp of Marquette; siblings, Thomas (Tammy) Beauchamp of Indianapolis, IN, Michael (JoAnn Caynak) Beauchamp of Marquette and Virginia (Vito) Klimaz of Rochester, NY; nieces & nephews, Daniel, Matthew, April and Amy Beauchamp, Tracy Klimaz-Kane, Leah and Erick Beauchamp.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Heikkala officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the mass.
