Robert Hons
SPRINGFIELD, OH – Robert Hons, beloved husband of 66 years to Janice Leona (nee Watson), loving father of Darlene (James) West and Robert (Patricia) Hons, cherished son of the late Vladimir and Mae ( nee Krizek) Hons of Chicago, Illinois, devoted grandfather of J.R. (Robin), Thomas (Erin), and Michael (Amy) West and Robert (Holly) and Christopher (Candice) Hons, and great- grandfather of 13, passed away December 5, 2014 in Springfield, Ohio.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, and a graduate of Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska, Mr. Hons worked in the industrial railroad business for 43 years.
Au Train, Michigan, was his home during most of his 26 years of retirement. It was there that he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and his passion for music as a member of the Superior Swing Big Band, the Shrine Band, and the Munising Community Band.
Mr. Hons was a 50 year member of the Toledo-Fort Industry Lodge 144, Ahmed Temple, AARS Valley of Cincinnati, and the Royal Order of Jesters.
Because of his steadfast support of the Shrine and children, memorials may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Cincinnati, Ohio.
