NARFE meeting scheduled
MARQUETTE — Members of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1900 will hear a presentation by Marquette-area journalist Brian Cabell at their next regular meeting at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Members will also elect 2019 chapter officers.
Brian Cabell is a career journalist who produces the online news and opinion publication Word On The Street. He was a CNN correspondent for 14 years, before moving to Marquette in 2004. He served as news director for WLUC-TV until his retirement in 2011. Word on the Street covers the pulse of what’s going on in Marquette County, including businesses opening and closing, upcoming events, news about notable local figures, public policy changes, and more.
NARFE will meet in Room B of the Marquette Senior Center, on the lower level of City Hall, 300 W. Baraga in Marquette. Members may enter from Spring Street, behind City Hall. Spring Street is one-way from east to west.
The chapter will not meet in December, January and February.
NARFE Chapter 1900 was chartered in 1983 and includes members from the Marquette, Escanaba, Rapid River, Ontonagon, Houghton and Hancock areas. For more information, call 906-475-0362.
