OSF groundbreaking held

GLADSTONE – A ground breaking ceremony was held last week for OSF St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group’s new clinic in Gladstone. Officials from the hospital, medical staff, contractors, and many others were attendance for the ceremony.

The new clinic is slated to be complete in May of 2017 with Brinkmann Constructors as contractor for the project. The almost $5 million project will include updated technology, rehab services, family care, and many other services within the facility. Gladstone has two OSF clinics – a family care facility and one for rehabilitation services. The new facility will allow for one central unit for care.

The structure will be 18,000 square feet, explained Jefferson, and will also include exam rooms, X-ray imaging services, and modern patient rooms.

Kim Johnson, director of physician practices for OSF, said the new facility will only add to the quality of care provided through the current clinics.

“I’m confident it’ll give our patients better care,” she said, adding the clinic will transform health care for the patients they serve.

Johnson said the staff and sisters at OSF are excited for the new facility to be complete as the current structure is over 36 years old and in need of updating.

The new clinic will be located at 145 4th Ave in Gladstone, across from the Gladstone Public Safety Department building.

President of OSF St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group Dave Lord said he couldn’t be more thankful for all of the support OSF has gotten from the community and its members.

“It’s a great day for the people in this community,” he said during the ceremony. He also thanked the city of Gladstone for all of its support and help make the new clinic a reality.
