ISHPEMING — The West End Health Foundation presented Camp UPeninsulin with a grant check on Oct. 27, for its Special Grant Cycle. As part of this initiative, WEHF matched all donations raised by swimmers. The total amount matched reached $10,000.
The Swim Teal Lake Benefit for Diabetes is a community event supporting youth with diabetes. This year, all funds raised from Swim Teal Lake were donated to Camp UPeninsulin, helping provide a summer camp experience for children in the Upper Peninsula living with diabetes.
The WEHF Board of Directors presented the check to UPeninsulin Camp Board Member Kristy Hemmila. These funds will help further the camp’s mission to provide essential resources and support for diabetes management.
