MARQUETTE — Fancy-free celebrated the opening of its new downtown Marquette location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted in partnership with the Lake Superior Community Partnership on Oct. 9.

Located at 110 W. Washington St., Fancy-free is a curated resale boutique that blends fashion, music, and art under one roof.

Founded by Greta Hillstrom, an artist and musician with a lifelong passion for creativity and community, Fancy-free’s mission is to “stoke the wildfire of creative expression.” The shop offers a mix of curated resale pieces, live music events, and opportunities for local artists and small businesses to showcase their work.

Regular happenings include open jams for musicians of all ages and skill levels, music and movements classes for children and parents and Music & Sales Saturdays, which feature live performances, small business pop-ups, and giveaways.

“Fancy-free is more than a shop; it’s a space where people can connect, create, and express themselves,” said Hillstrom. “Whether you’re a musician, a shopper, or just someone who loves being part of a creative community, there’s something here for you.”
