Rotary presents scholarships

This year’s college scholarship recipients were recognized at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Marquette. The club first awarded scholarships in the 1920s and in 1982, the Rotary Fund was established to select recipients and manage the funds. Since then, $75,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Marquette Area High School graduates to attend schools in Michigan. Recipients are for career and technical education certificates or baccalaureate degrees. Those on the degree track receive an award of $2,000 the first year and $1,000 each year through graduation. CTE recipients receive $500 per year during their certification program.
