HARVEY — The Lake Superior Community Partnership assisted Marquette’s newest Farm Bureau Insurance agent, Steffani Baker, with a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new Coleman-Baker Agency.

Baker has teamed up with Chris Coleman, who led the former Coleman Agency individually for four years before Steffani joined.

While the name has changed to Coleman-Baker Agency, the commitment to the Marquette community has not. The agency is still locally owned and operated.

“When you think of Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan, you may think that we only insure farmers,” said Coleman. “But we are so much more! Since 1949, Farm Bureau Insurance has been helping to protect the people of our beautiful Mitten State. In addition to farms, we offer a wide range of insurance products, including life, home, auto, renters, lake estate, country estate, commercial, and more. Our Agency believes insurance needs are as unique as the individuals themselves. Our mission is to help U.P. families and businesses protect what matters most to our way of life.”

Baker and her husband, Doug Baker, are both Marquette natives thrilled to raise their son in the town that raised them. Baker enjoys giving back to the community in many ways and finds the most rewarding time spent with local animal shelters, UPAWS and other ways to advocate for homeless pets.

“I come from a long line of Marquette business owners,” said Baker. “So my family roots are strong here. We are a rare people here in the U.P. We work hard, and we play hard. I’m honored to serve the U.P. and its incredibly hard-working people and businesses.”

Both Coleman and Baker are licensed, multi-line insurance agents who focus on providing the best auto, homeowners, life, farm owners, and commercial insurance for Marquette County. The office is open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday. Evenings are available by appointment.
