VVA session features ‘Medal’ recipient

The Michigan State Council of the Vietnam Veterans of America recently held their 20th Biennial Convention at the Holiday Inn in Marquette. The banquet featured Medal of Honor recipient James “Doc” McCloughan as guest speaker. “Doc” McCloughan, who served in Vietnam as an enlisted medic, presented a never to be forgotten saga of the fateful day where he earned our country’s highest military awards. There have been 3,517 recipients of this award, 61 of whom are still living, and he is one of only seven who are still able to tour the country to motivate and share his experiences with others. Shown in the photo is McCloughan on the left, VVA Chapter 380 member Vic Romback, on the right and Michigan State Council President John Riling in the background.
