Troop holds Court of Honor

MARQUETTE — Scout Troop 302 — chartered to the Marquette Kiwanis Club — recently held a Court of Honor.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation rank advancements: Logan Curren to Life Scout, William Dupras and Anthony Thill to First Class Scout, Brendan Chevalier to Tenderfoot and Karsten Andel to Scout.

The following were recognized for earning merit badges, primarily at Camp Hiawatha: David Baumann- Soil and Water Conservation, Composite Materials, Metal Work, Bird Study, Indian Lore, Geology, and Insect Study; Jacob Baumann- Bird Study, Art, Sculpture, and Insect Study; Hunter Beltz- Swimming, Motorboating, Canoeing, Weather, Astronomy, and Archery; Brendan Chevalier- Swimming, Rifle Shooting, Motorboating, Geology, and Canoeing; Logan Curran- Motorboating, Metal Work, Pioneering, Composite Materials, and Orienteering; William DuPras- Space Exploration, Rifle Shooting, Pioneering, Archery, Family Life, Reading, and Citizenship in Society; Caleb Rayhorn- Swimming, Canoeing, and Rifle Shooting; Anthony Thill- Citizenship in Society; and Karsten Andel, Swimming.

In addition to Camp Hiawatha, the Troop backpacked in the Porcupine Mountains in June. Jacob Baumann, David Bauman, William Dupras, and Brendan Chevalier took part in the trek. Also, Caleb Rayhorn served with the Mackinac Island Scout Service Troop for a week.

The Troop meets Monday evenings at 7:15 in St. Michael’s Church gymnasium in Marquette.
