Dancers aid foster children
New Attitudes students rallied for foster children in the community this season. The studio’s Hope for the Future program encourages students to nominate and vote on local community programs to help raise awareness for and promote giving. Child & Family Services of the Upper Peninsula Inc. was adopted this season. Students bought cozy blankets, donated squishmallows, and made cards for the local youth involved in foster care. The director shared there are currently 32 foster children just in this district. When they are placed in a home they don’t have many belongings so when the workers are able to bring them gifts at their monthly visits … this helps the work our students deliver them come with a feeling of warmth and support in the community. The director also shared that when children are placed the goal is to find a forever home if children are unable to be reunited with biological family. In extreme cases a child can have several homes within one year. If you or someone you know are interested in foster care please reach out to this amazing resource. Awareness is key to making a difference. Pictured from the left: Dessa Hocking, Delia Perry and Josie White.
