MARQUETTE — Super One Foods of Marquette and Negaunee held a special Animal Shelter Donation Drive for Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter. From April 21 to May 8, customers were given the opportunity to add a donation to their grocery order or donate a “wish list” item.

UPAWS volunteer Karen Rhodes said: “Many wonderful supporters responded and because of that we received a check for $5,950! During the fundraiser we were able to have volunteers in the store to talk to customers about our shelter and the many ways to help us.”

In addition to the monetary donation, $479 of “wish list” items were brought to the shelter.
