Rotary Club of Marquette supports Camp UPeninsulin

President Erica Huss of the Rotary Club of Marquette presented a contribution of $1,000 to Camp UPeninsulin staff members (from the left) Krysti Ostermeyer, Chris Plourde and Mike Parks at a recent meeting of the club. The mission of the camp is to provide children with Type 1 diabetes an educational camp experience in a safe and fun environment. Camp UPeninsulin encourages children with diabetes to have fun and learn new skills from local diabetes experts. Summer camp provides an opportunity for children to interact with one another while learning good diabetes self-care in a medically safe environment. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Camp UPeninsulin has been able to provide a low-cost/free camp, so that children living in the U.P. are able to attend regardless of financial status. Our registration fee in 2022 was $20. The next summer session will be July 25-29 at the Clear Lake Education Center in Manistique. More information is at http://campupeninsulin.com/.
