Painting the Peninsula Pink a success

During October, the Superior Health Foundation, along with its partner, North Dickinson Community Schools, raised $18,084.20 for the SHF Breast Health Fund as part of Painting the Peninsula Pink. Proudly presented by the M.E. Davenport Foundation, Painting the Peninsula Pink is a month-long event to draw awareness to breast health issues and raise money for the invaluable fund. Recently, SHF presented the monies to the Marquette County Health Department, which oversees the fund. Pictured from left, are Jerry Messana, health officer with the Marquette County Health Department; Jim LaJoie, executive director of the Superior Health Foundation; and Brianna Mileski, RN BSN, community health division director with the MCHD. Funding is available for both men and women in the Upper Peninsula to help with out-of-pocket breast health expenses not otherwise covered by insurance.
