The Knights of Columbus Council #1541 of Ishpeming presents a check for $1,800 to Beyond “26,” a program for continuing education for adults with disabilities who are no longer eligible to attend Michigan public school. The class, perhaps the only one of its kind in the U.S., is run totally on grants and donations. Math, English, and reading are focal points, along with an emphasis on better mental and physical health for participants, but American history, science, government and the arts are also included.
