Ishpeming Heritage Plaza workers saluted
There is no finer feeling than seeing an area come together in an effort to improve and move forward, Bob Marietti said. This was reflected in a recent volunteer lighting project at Ishpeming’s Heritage Plaza for which Marietti was one of the instigators. The concrete base for the 35-foot pole, provided by the City of Ishpeming, was constructed by Alex Sovey of our local Bricklayers Union. The next stage found Upper Peninsula Power Co. installing the pole and providing the two flood lights that illuminate a very large area of the plaza. Clancey Electric sealed the deal with the installation of a buried line to Bell Forest Products building and completed electrical installation. The icing on the cake was Bell Forest Products offer to pay for the power usage of the lights, Marietti said.
