Baumann earns Eagle Scout Award at Troop 302 Court of Honor

MARQUETTE --Troop 302 chartered to the Marquette Kiwanis Club recently held a Court of Honor.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Eagle Scout Award to David Baumann, son of Erik Baumann and Tracey Folske.
David's Eagle Scout service project was building and installing picnic tables for the AMVETS. Bronze, Gold, and Silver Palms for earning additional merit badges beyond those required for the Eagle Award were given to Jacob Baumann and Tyler Willey.
Other rank advancements were awarded to Caleb Rayhorn for Scout rank and to William DuPras and Anthony Thill for 2nd Class.
The following were recognized for earning merit badges, primarily at Camp Hiawatha: David Baumann- Camping, Citizenship in Society, Citizenship in the World, Archery, Lifesaving, Leatherworking, and Orienteering; Jacob Baumann- Forestry, Composite Materials, Weather, and Archery; Hunter Beltz- Metalworking, First Aid, and Rifle Shooting; Brendan Chevalier- Indian Lore and Space Exploration; Logan Curran- Bird Study, Pulp and Paper, Emergency Preparation, Soil and Water Conservation; Weather, and Space Exploration; William DuPras- Geology and Mammal Study; Caleb Rayhorn- Space Exploration; Mathew Scovronski- Leatherworking, Pioneering, and Wood Carving; and Anthony Thill- Indian Lore, Kayaking, and Space Exploration.
Tyler Willey served on the Camp Staff as Assistant Scoutmaster.
Chevalier, Rayhorn, David Baumann and Thill received the Polar Loon patch for early morning swims.
Senior Patrol Logan Curran recognized the following for attending other summer activities:
National Youth Leader Training at Camp Hiawatha- Jacob Baumann and David Baumann.
Troop 5-day Canoe Trip on the Manistique River- David Baumann, Jacob Baumann, Hunter Beltz, Logan Curran, William DuPras, and Anthony Thill.
The Troop meets Monday evenings at 7:15 in St. Michael's Church gymnasium.
It will hold an open house on Monday with games, skill demonstrations, and refreshments for any young men aged 11-18 who are interested in participating.
