Four young people were recently awarded the Prince of Peace Scholarship Award in the amount of $750 each. They are Jacob Schlemm and Alexander Schlemm, left photo, and Austin Ridl and Paige Britton, right photo. Paige will be starting her second years at Northern Michigan University where she made the dean’s list her first semester. She also plays for the NMU women’s soccer team. Austin will be attending Michigan Technological University where he will be studying for an engineering degree and will play football for the MTU Huskies.Twins Alexander and Jacob will be attending NMU and working toward an associate degree in welding. Both Alexander and Jacob have been a part of Prince of Peace for many years and have volunteered with multiple work services. They also have fixed trails on national parks, cleaned ships for the Coast Guard and have been Sea Cadets for six years. Prince of Peace started its scholarship program in 1987 and has awarded scholarships based on academic performance, church and community service and character and life direction of the student. A release from the church states: “Prince of Peace family is proud of the work their students are doing in developing their God-given talents to serve in our world.” (Submitted photo)
