Kelly Van Wormer, State Regent of Michigan’s Daughters of the American Revolution, recently visited the Onagomingkway Chapter at a luncheon held in Munising at the Alger County Heritage Center. Van Wormer of downstate Port Huron discussed “Carrying on the Tradition,” the mission of her three year term in office. This mission focuses on the importance of DAR’s three basic pillars of patriotism, education of youth and historical preservation. Regent Melissa Wilson of Marquette presents Van Wormer with a basket of gifts collected by chapter members from around the Upper Peninsula. The visit continued after the meeting with a shipwreck tour and pasty dinner.
