Kelly earns P.E.O. STAR scholarship

Ella Kelly, a senior at Brookline High School in Brookline, Massachusetts, and granddaughter of Jan and Len Raskin of Marquette, was awarded a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood. In this photo, Ella Kelly receives her scholarship from P.E.O. Chapter DU member Jan Raskin, her grandmother. Ella will attend the University of Minnesota in the fall. She was sponsored by P.E.O. Chapter DU of Marquette. The P.E.O STAR Scholarship is a highly competitive award for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada. P.E.O. is the Philanthropic Educational Organization that has been celebrating women helping women reach for their educational goals for more than 150 years. Since its inception in 1869, the nonprofit organization has helped more than 116,000 women pursue educational goals by providing over $383 million in grants, scholarships, awards and loans.
