At the recent Marquette Senior High School Swim and Dive banquet, several swimmers were recognized not just for their swimming abilities, but for their vocal talents. Four students sang the national anthem at home swim meets both individually and as a duet. DAR member Sarah Smart, whose daughter is a member of the swim team and who, herself was on this MSHS team a number of years ago, thought this was a wonderful patriotic activity to be recognized. Sophomore Brittany Minkin, Senior Tyree Dwight who sang as a duet, Senior Alexis Adams, and Senior Hannah Winn accept a certificate of appreciation from Smart on behalf of the Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR. Winn accepted on behalf of her sister Jaymes, also a former team member, who is away at college, but was in town to sing at this year’s U.P. Finals held in Marquette.
