Davie steps down from Pathways

Davie

MARQUETTE — Bill Davie of Marquette is stepping down from the Pathways Community Mental Health Board after 15 years of service.

“Being on a Community Mental Health Board is one of the most rewarding boards you can get appointed to in the county,” Davie said in a release. “That’s because it really makes a difference in so many people’s lives, whether they be mentally Ill, developmentally disabled or being treated for substance abuse. You won’t find a more competent dedicated staff.”

Through his service in Pathways, Davie was elected to the board of NorthCare, the regional entity overseeing the five CMHs of the Upper Peninsula. In addition to that, Davie was elected to serve as an officer of the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan, CMHA. His final term was that of immediate past president.

“Serving on a local, regional, and state board is like having a part time job,” Davie said. “There is a constant flow of information and meetings to stay ahead of the advocacy needed to make sure the best services are provided and the money is there for all the critical needs.”
