New Attitudes dancers shine
Students from New Attitudes Dance Studios in Marquette attended the Artistic Dance Exchange in Minneapolis. The event is both a competition and a workshop for dancers. Delia Perry and Josie White competed on the first day alongside dancers from a wide range of states and studios. Delia received a gold rating for her performance and Josie received a high gold rating as well as the Best Performance Award and first place in her category overall qualifying her for Nationals with two scholarships. Delia and Josie along with Larkin Wester and Maddie Zerbst attended two days of workshops with renowned instructors from around the United States. Styles taught were contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and ballet among others. Josie also received the Excellence in Class award for the workshops. This award provides a scholarship to future workshops. All four students represented the U.P. Community of dancers well with an amazing willingness to learn and excel in their skill outside of their comfort zone.
