Upper Peninsula Veterans War Memorial Challenge

IRON MOUNTAIN — The lights are on and so is the challenge to keep them on by making a donation to the Veterans Memorial atop the Pine Mountain Ski Jump in Iron Mountain.
Some Gave All and the War Memorial Committee is asking each and every one of you to give some! So far the Michigan Sons of the American Legion Detachment have donated $1,000. The Gladstone Squadron #71 has pledged $500 and South Haven Squad #49 has pledged $500. The biggest donation so far came from Stambaugh Sons #21 with a donation of $2,100. The latest two donations came from Menominee Sons #146 with a donation of $500 and Kingsford Squadron S.A.L. #363 with a check for $1,200. Past State S.A.L. Commander Dennis Larson and his committee are caretakers of this memorial. Lights were added to the columns of personalized pavers that represent veterans, past present and future. Each paver is associated with the specific war or conflict. Send donations C/O U.P.
