Elefante completes GIA diploma program

Elefante

MARQUETTE — Crystal Elefante, Sales Specialist at Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers, recently completed the GIA Applied Jewelry Professional (AJP) diploma program.

Through the program, Elefante demonstrated knowledge of the 4Cs of diamond grading (color, clarity, cut, and carat weight), the differences between treated, laboratory-grown, and imitation stones and the characteristics of the most popular colored gemstones.

In addition to her GIA AJP, Elefante holds a Diamontologist certification from the Diamond Council of America (2013) and is completing the courses to become a Certified Pearl Specialist through Cultured Pearls Association of America. She is continuing her education through GIA, and is enrolled in the Graduate Gemologist program, where she is currently studying Diamonds and Pearls.

Elefante is originally from Ishpeming and has been in the jewelry industry for 10 years, working in a variety of settings all over the country. She is the third team member at Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers to earn a GIA credential.
