MARQUETTE — The Marquette Lions Club would like to thank the management and staff of Super One Foods in Marquette for hosting their annual Candy Days fund-raiser Aug. 19-21.

The store management graciously allowed Lions to conduct their event inside the air-conditioned store while summer temps and humidity raged outside.

Thank you for your consideration in keeping our members cool and safe.

A Super One shopper we assume, accidently put a pair of earrings in our donation basket.

If you lost a pair of earrings, you could retrieve them at the store customer service desk.

Lions gave away rolls of their Lions mints and fruit candy to thank the community for their ongoing support of club projects.

Generous Super One shoppers donated $523.20, 100% of which will fund local community projects including providing eyeglasses and vision exams for those in need, providing food for those encountering food insecurity, assisting in the purchase of hearing aids, donating to community events, and helping to renovate their Marquette Lions Lakeside Park on south Front Street.

This fall, the club will be providing a free dictionary to every third grader in Marquette schools, and plan to participate once again in the Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family holiday gift giving program.

Their next fundraiser will be the sale of holiday wreaths which will begin in early November.
