Cub Scout Pack 295 honors members

MARQUETTE — Cub Scout Pack 395 chartered to Messiah Lutheran Church recently held it’s May Pack meeting at Harlow Park Veterans’ Memorial.

At the meeting advancements were awarded for the year’s work and veterans were honored.

The following Scouts were recognized for advancement awards and graduated to the next den:

Bobcats (new Scouts): Olivia Ellingson, Corwyn Foulks, and Zoe Stegmeyer.

Tigers (completing 1st Grade): Raegan Buss, Jacob Czupinski, Oliver Nadeau, Karsyn Nord, and Elli Schjenken.

Wolves (completing 2nd Grade): Opal Augustyn, Eva Dombrowski, Charlotte Lester, Oliver Hartman, Huxley Hokenson, Jay Jansen, and Jakob Schaedig.

Bears (completing 3rd Grade): Karsten Andel, Shane Czupinski, Adrian Garcia, Theo Hokenson, Alex Nadeau, and Jude Simms.

Webelos (completing 4th or 5th Grade): Steven Dillabough, Christian Hausmann, Hudson Jones, Caleb Rayhorn, and Eero Rutz.

The unit leaders were recognized and thanked: Cubmaster Jose Garcia, Den Leaders Katy Divine, Jill Simms, Jim Hausmann, Committee Chair Dewey Jones, and Committee members Shay Simmons and Eric Voigt.

The meeting concluded with a discussion about the Veterans Memorial and then the Scouts looked for the brick or paving stone for Bart King, one of the original Boy Scouts in Marquette who died in France during World War I. Adrian Garcia was the first to find the paver.
