Bobbi Cleghorn-Hurkmans named 2021 UPHS – Bell Mercy Award winner

ISHPEMING — UP Health System – Bell recently announced that Bobbi Cleghorn-Hurkmans, LPN in Family Practice, has been recognized as the hospital’s 2021 Mercy Award winner.

The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program established in 2001 to honor the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.

“At UPHS – Bell, we share LifePoint’s commitment to Making Communities Healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job,” said Mitch Leckelt, CEO of UPHS – Bell. “We are extremely proud to recognize Bobbi Cleghorn-Hurkmans for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. She consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of her, ensuring that her patients are educated and understand their current healthcare needs and options. Bobbi is passionate and has the resolve to make sure all those around her have the care and support they need.”

Bobbi currently works in the Family Practice Clinic at Bell where she treats many different illnesses and injuries that come through the clinic. Bobbi goes above and beyond for her patients. She personally invests her heart, soul, and a great deal of time into the people she cares for. This doesn’t end when she is off the clock, either. As one of the key players of the Women of Steel group, she works hard in support of many community outreach projects and charitable donations. Bobbi spent countless hours contributing to these causes, without any monetary compensation. Bobbi does things like this just because of the kindness in her heart.

Each hospital winner, including Bobbi, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2021 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer.
