MARQUETTE — U.P. Home Health & Hospice and U.P. Private Duty Services recently announced the organization’s 2021 Employees of the Year.

This annual award is based on peer nominations and specific criteria, which includes a commitment to quality patient care, teamwork, and professional development. Each of the recipients was presented with a monetary award and plaque in recognition of their outstanding service and is recognized on a plaque on display at the agency, according to a press release.

Mary Hosking, RN, a 5-year veteran of the agency, was named the Direct Care Staff Employee of the Year. Mary has been described as always having a smiling face and a positive attitude.

“She goes above and beyond for both her patients and her co-workers. She is a fabulous nurse, has a great skill set and is comfortable in all situations. She is always busy, routinely takes on extra visits and is extremely flexible.” We are lucky to have her on our team, the release said.

Carrie Adams, Billing/Coding, hired in 2019, was a stand-out employee immediately, and was named 2021 Non-Direct Care Staff Employee of the Year. Carrie is very knowledgeable in all areas of her department and is always willing and eager to learn more.

“She is always giving 110% and is a team player and one of our unseen health care heroes. Carrie always has a positive attitude and lifts others up around her.” Carrie is an amazing angel, according to the release.

Linda Evans, Private Duty Aide, was named Private Duty Employee of the Year. Linda exhibits amazing work ethics and a caring attitude. She is a retired LPN who decided to rejoin the work force to, once again, care for others.

“Linda goes above and beyond and we are lucky to have her as a member of our private duty family!” Thank you for being an angel, Linda, states the release.

“These amazing members of our team received multiple nominations from their peers,” said Jennie Garrett-Bureau, Executive Director/Administrator of U.P. Home Health & Hospice. “We are honored to have them on our team with their hard work, devotion to our patients, and fulfilling our organizations high standards of care. Their teamwork and commitment to their profession ensures a high level of excellence in patient care. We are proud that Mary, Carrie, and Linda are part of our dynamic team.”
