‘Chain of Love’ fundraiser record broken

After holding its annual “Chain of Love” fundraiser to raise money for the local Area 1 Special Olympics, the Bay College and LSSU Regional Center chapter of Business Professionals of America raised a record amount of $638 in donations that has been awarded to the Special Olympics program of Delta, Schoolcraft and Menominee counties. There is a $50 discrepancy between the check and the amount raised due to an additional $50 donation coming in after the picture was taken. This surpasses the previous record set in 2020 of $500. This new record was due to the efforts and participation of Bay College and LSSU Regional Center staff and students, along with the community at large. Pictured above is BPA member Austin DeGrand presenting fundraiser proceeds to local Special Olympics athlete Thomas Dunlap and Area 1 Special Olympics volunteer Donna Dunlap.
