Area residents gain honors from variety of universities

MARQUETTE — A number of local residents have been honored by the colleges/universities they attend.

Kauppinen named

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire extends congratulations to the 2,986 students named to the fall 2020 Dean’s List. Their academic performance has been outstanding, and we recognize these students with pride.

Sides saluted

STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,600 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation. High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75 to 3.89 and honor recognition is accorded to those with grade point averages from 3.50 to 3.74.

Personalized certificates of scholastic achievement are being sent to those who earned highest honors distinction.

A student who received honors is Hunter Sides of Marquette, first-year honors.

Wisuri cited

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — St. Cloud State University has announced the names of more than 1,300 students whose academic achievement placed them on the 2020 fall semester dean’s list.

To be eligible for the honor, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

A local student gaining this honor is Alex Wisuri of Ishpeming, College of Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, BSE

Elliott honored

SAINT PETER, Minn. — The Fall Semester Dean’s List at Gustavus Adolphus College has been released. The list comprises students who have earned a 3.7 grade point average (based on a scale in which 4.0 = A) or higher for the semester ending in December.

Brendan Elliott of Marquette was named to the Dean’s List at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in Saint Peter, Minn., that prepares 2,200 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning. Its the oldest Lutheran college in Minnesota.
