Superior Health Foundation virtual gala raises funds

The Superior Health Foundation held its Ninth Annual Gala on Saturday at the Northern Center in Marquette. The gala, with COVID-19 restrictions in place, was a 1.5-hour virtual event. During the program, mental health partners Great Lakes Recovery Centers and the Healthy Youth Coalition of Marinette & Menominee counties spoke. In addition, talented singer/songwriter Joshua Davis performed while more than 20 silent auction items and 70 prize boxes were on display for people to bid on and buy. “We were elated to continue the tradition of our annual gala,” said Jim LaJoie, executive director of the Superior Health Foundation. “Although we missed the company of the hundreds of people in attendance, the virtual format afforded us an incredible opportunity to raise money for mental health while showcasing our two awesome partners. It was a lovely evening.” At the conclusion of the gala, SHF presented $10,000 a piece to GLRC and the Healthy Youth Coalition for their mental health projects. The event is expected to net more than $70,000. (Superior Health Foundation photo)
