Marquette Family Medicine Residency program welcomes personnel

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program has welcomed a new class of residents to the program.

The residency program is an education collaboration between UP Health System-Marquette and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

During the fourth year of medical school, students begin the interview process with residency programs. Based on mutual rankings, a computer algorithm from the National Resident Matching Program calculates the match. The matches are revealed nationally on the third Friday of March.

The latest Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program residents include:

≤ Maria Barreras, MD

Medical degree: American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies from the University of California Irvine

≤ Brianna Cadigan, DO

Medical degree: A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University

≤ Natalie Madland, MD

Medical degree: American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Purdue University

≤ Christine Nguyen, MD

Medical degree: American University of the Caribbean SOM

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies from the University of San Francisco

≤ Michael Piggott, DO

Medical degree: Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Michigan State University

≤ Valerie Taglione, MD

Medical degree: Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from Michigan Technological University
