Don Britton, Chair of the Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority, was recently presented with a statewide trail volunteer of the year award from Michigan Trails and Greenways at the State Capitol in Lansing. Britton was recognized for his role in creating and maintaining snowmobile trails throughout the Upper Peninsula. He has been active in all levels of trail advocacy including local clubs, regional DNR committees and State committees including Michigan Snowmobile Association and the snowmobile advisory committee.
