Jim and Marilyn Thomas were recently feted with a mile dedicated to them on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail for their outstanding contributions to the formation, management and continued maintenance of the trail. Their sign is located at mile marker 23.5 (in Negaunee) which is where Jim and Marilyn sponsor a mile marker. Jim recently stepped down as chair of the Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority after 12 years of chairing the organization.
