Ground breaking ceremony held at Windstone

The Lake Superior Community Partnership recently assisted LR Swadley with a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new senior independent living community. LR Swadley, Community Developer based in Marquette, announced that the groundbreaking has begun for Windstone at Mill Creek, a new senior independent living neighborhood located on a beautiful six acre parcel in the heart of Harlow Farms Conservation Community. Windstone will bring 26 two-bedroom units built in a series of cottage style duplexes. This independent living lifestyle will offer active seniors many features and amenities including a 2,100-square-foot Community Center, which will serve as the lifestyle hub of the neighborhood. It includes a large gathering room with kitchen for parties, a pub-like area for meeting friends, social activities, offices, and other services. The center will look out on a protected conservation area, with access to Harlow Farms popular nature trails. Windstone is designed to target independent living seniors who wish to lease a new, safe, home with its own attached garage, kitchen, an ADA bath, along with all the security and convenience this location provides. Additional support services will be available from across the street at Mill Creek Senior Living Community. Swadley Development LLC, is the project developer for the owner, Macaulay Marquette Properties LLC, a regional Senior Housing Operator based in the Upper Peninsula. Teal Lake and Mill Creek Assisted Living are just two of the related senior communities that Macaulay Marquette properties operates in the U.P. Swadley expects construction to be in three phases with the first units being available in June 2020. For more information contact Windstone at Mill Creek Senior Living at 906-361-6600.
