Mark Canale, left, owner and president of Canale-Tonella Funeral Home in Marquette, Canale Gwinn Funeral home in Gwinn and Canale & Pennock Funeral Service of Ishpeming, received a 40 Year Plaque at the recent Michigan Funeral Directors Association convention in Port Huron in recognition of his serving as a licensed funeral director in the state for four decades. Presenting Canale with the plaque is Doug Misiuk, current president of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association. Canale passed the state board exam in 1979 and has owned and managed the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home in Marquette since 1986.
